10th-Grader Arrested After Bringing Knife To Morgan High School In Wimauma

Morgan High School administration, acting on a tip, found a fixed-blade knife in a student’s backpack, leading to his arrest.

WIMAUMA, Fla. – A 10th-grade student at Aquilla J. Morgan High School was arrested Friday afternoon after school officials, acting on a tip, found a weapon in his possession.

Isaiah Soba, 16, was taken into custody by the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office and charged with possession of a weapon on school property.

According to a statement from the school, administrators received a tip at approximately 1:50 p.m. on September 12, 2025, that Soba had a weapon on campus. A subsequent search of his bookbag revealed a three-and-a-half-inch fixed-blade knife.

The student was immediately detained, and law enforcement was called to the school. He was then arrested without incident.
