NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. – The Pasco Sheriff’s Office (PSO) has charged a 13-year-old student from River Ridge High School with disruption of a school function following the discovery of an unloaded BB gun on campus.

Deputies responded to reports of a possible weapon at the school, leading to a thorough investigation. The BB gun was ultimately located and determined to be unloaded. No injuries were reported, and there was no immediate threat to students or staff.

The Pasco Sheriff’s Office is using this incident to remind parents and guardians to talk to their children about the serious consequences of their actions, particularly regarding bringing prohibited items to school.

PSO emphasizes that all threats or suspicious activities reported to law enforcement are taken seriously and thoroughly investigated.
