TAMPA, Fla. – A 40-year-old convicted felon and gang member from St. Petersburg was taken into custody in Tampa on Monday after undercover detectives seized trafficking amounts of narcotics, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities arrested Anthony Schwebel on August 17, 2026, during an ongoing narcotics operation. Investigators identified Schwebel, a documented gang member with 17 prior felony convictions, after he arrived at a Tampa meeting location riding a Yamaha motorcycle.
Undercover detectives moved in and placed Schwebel under arrest. A subsequent search revealed he was carrying trafficking quantities of both methamphetamine and oxycodone.
Schwebel was booked into the Hillsborough County jail system as the investigation into the narcotics operation continues.
