PASCO COUNTY Fla. – The Florida Department of Health reported Saturday that a 17- year old Pasco County teen has passed away from COVID-19.
The information released from the Florida Department of Health (FDOH) on Saturday, states they are unsure whether or the teen had come in contact with a suspected or confirmed case, only that they know the teen did not contract the virus from travel.
This is the first case of someone under the age of 18, in the state of Florida, to die from COVID-19.
Florida Department of Health is reporting that there have been seventeen COVID-19 related deaths in Pasco County.
Earlier this month, we filed a report on some of the Pasco residents lost to complications from COVID-19, and most had some underlying illness. There is no information as of yet if this Pasco teen had any underlying conditions.
