TAMPA, FL. – An 18-year-old man has been arrested after an argument led to a barricaded situation on Thursday.
According to police, the suspect, 18-year-old Dionte Singleton, and the victim, a juvenile male, were in an argument when Dionte battered him.
Police say that during the argument, Singleton grabbed a handgun and racked it, causing family members to run outside and call the police.
Once officers arrived, Singleton ran inside of the home and barricaded himself. Singleton surrendered himself without further incident after brief negotiations.
During the investigation, officers learned the handgun was fake.
Singleton was arrested and charged with Strangulation and Resist Without Violence.
