2 Injured From Lightning Strike on Clearwater Beach

CLEARWATER, Fla. – Earlier Sunday, Two people were injured from a lightning strike on Clearwater Beach.

Clearwater Police Department said, “Multiple officers are on scene at Clearwater Beach, where we have two patients from a lightning strike. One is in critical condition and headed to Morton Plant Hospital, the other is in stable condition at this time. Clearwater Fire Rescue is at the scene as well as treating victims.”

Both victims are being treated at Morton Plant Hospital. Officials say both Both victims were trying to leave the beach as the weather deteriorated the strike occurred.

The victim in critical condition is 37 years old. The victim in stable condition is 43 years old.
