DADE CITY, Fla. – A two-year-old boy from Dade City died Friday morning after he was struck by a pickup truck in Pasco County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The incident occurred at approximately 11:20 AM on Hilltop Farms Drive, south of Pindos Drive.
According to the FHP report, the child was walking northbound along the outside shoulder of the road with his father. Troopers stated the child “darted out into the path of” a northbound Dodge Ram 3500 pickup truck.
The truck, driven by a 20-year-old man from Dade City, struck the child.
The toddler was airlifted to an area hospital, where he later died from injuries suffered during the crash.
The driver of the truck and an 18-year-old female passenger from Wesley Chapel were not injured.
