Detectives have arrested a 22-year-old man in connection with the August killing of a Good Samaritan.
Detectives have arrested a man they say is responsible for an August homicide in Golden Gate. Anthony Michael Felix, 22, was arrested Sunday by the Collier County Sheriff’s Office and charged with second-degree murder for the death of 54-year-old Juan Coc Xo.
The shooting occurred on August 17 around 2 a.m.
According to investigators, Xo and a friend were walking home on 41st Terrace SW when a vehicle approached them. An individual in the car attempted to rob the men, but Xo refused to hand over his belongings and was subsequently shot.
He died at the scene.
Detectives identified Felix, who is listed as homeless, as the primary suspect. A traffic stop was conducted early Sunday morning at Vanderbilt Road and U.S. 41. Felix was a passenger in the vehicle and was arrested without incident before being taken to the Naples Jail Center.
“I’m proud of our detectives for their determination in this case,” Sheriff Kevin Rambosk said. “They poured through the evidence to identify the suspect, then continued the search for Felix as he tried to evade law enforcement.”
