23-Year-Old Tampa Man Killed Wednesday Night In Dale Mabry Hit and Run, Suspect Sought

TAMPA, Fla. – A 23-year-old Tampa man was killed riding his bicycle Wednesday around 8:15 PM, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers say an SUV was traveling southbound on Dale Mabry Highway’s inside lane just south of Hamilton Avenue when it collided with the bicycle traveling westbound across the southbound lanes of Dale Mabry Highway.

After the crash, investigators say the driver parked the SUV in an adjacent parking lot and fled on foot. The victim suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash.

Witnesses described the driver as either a Hispanic male or African-American male with a medium build, short dark hair, and wearing a red shirt.
