25-Year-Old Dunnellon Woman Killed In Crash Wednesday Night

CITRUS COUNTY, Fla. – A 25-Year-Old Dunnellon woman was killed in a vehicle crash Wednesday.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, the 25-year-old woman was traveling in a sedan, on Lecanto Highway, with a 5-year-old child in the back seat. An SUV driven by a 25-year-old Inverness man was traveling southbound on Carl G Rose Highway. At the intersection of the two roadways, the woman turned left into the path of the SUV. Troopers say the front of the SUV collided with the left side of the sedan.

After the impact Troopers say, the car rotated to rest on the west side of the roadway as the SUV came to final rest facing east in the center of the roadway. Transported to an area hospital, the 25-year-old driver later died from injuries sustained during the crash.

The 5-year-old passenger sustained only minor inquires.
