HUDSON, Fla. – Three people were killed following a single-vehicle accident in Hudson on Tuesday night.
The crash happened at the intersection of Denton Avenue and Matis Road around 9:30 PM .
According to Florida Highway Patrol, the car was traveling westbound on Denton Avenue at a high rate of speed, west of Matis Road.
The driver, a 26-year-old man from Hudson, lost control of the car and departed the roadway, entered the south shoulder, struck a section of guardrail, and overturned several times in an open field.
As the car overturned, both passengers, an 18-year-old Hudson woman, and a 19-year-old Port Richey man were ejected from the car, while the driver remained entrapped in the vehicle which caught fire.
All three occupants suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash.
