ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – At 5:39 p.m., officers responded to a call of a person shot at 11901 4th Street North. Upon arrival, officers located Derrick D. Mims, 32, lying on the pavement with upper body trauma.
Mims was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
The next of kin has been notified, police say.
