33-Year-Old Tarpon Springs Woman Killed in Citrus County Crash Tuesday

CITRUS COUNTY, Fla. – A 33-year-old woman from Tarpon Springs, was killed Tuesday in a 3-vehicle crash Tuesday just after 3:00 PM.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, the woman was traveling northbound on North Citrus Avenue approaching West Basilico Street when the car in front of her stopped for traffic.

Troopers say the Tarpon Springs woman failed to stop and collided with the rear of the stopped car. Her car was then thrown into the opposite lane after the initial impact and was struck on the driver’s side of her car by a pickup truck that was traveling southbound.

FHP says the woman suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash. The driver and passenger in the pickup truck, 71 and 95-year-old men, suffered serious injuries, both from Lecanto Florida.

The driver and passenger of the rear-ended car, a 69-year-old woman and 77-year-old man, both from Clearwater, also suffered serious injuries in the crash.
