ZEPHYRHILLS, Fla. – A 40-year-old Zephyrhills man was killed in an early-morning crash Monday, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers say a car was traveling southbound on SR-39 in the northbound lane while overtaking and passing other traffic. The 40-year-old Zephyrhills man was traveling northbound on SR-39 on a motorcycle.
The two vehicles approached and collided nearly head-on just south of County Line Road with the motorcyclist suffering fatal injuries at the scene of the crash.
Troopers say the driver of the car was a 52-year-old man from Zephyrhills and suffered only minor injuries.
