HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – Firefighters rushed to a home on Lake Stall Lane Wednesday morning after a wave of 911 calls reported a structure fire in the Carrollwood area.
Dispatchers at the Hillsborough County Emergency Communications Center began receiving reports at 11:17 a.m. When the first engine arrived at the address—2904 Lake Stall Lane—crews found heavy fire already rolling from the front of the house.

Firefighters immediately advanced hose lines inside, attacking the flames from the interior of the home. According to officials, crews managed to bring the fire under control in less than 15 minutes.

During the search, firefighters discovered six animals trapped inside: three dogs and three cats. Rescuers pulled all six from the home, but one cat succumbed to fire conditions at the scene.
Civilians on site transported the remaining five surviving pets to a local veterinarian for evaluation and treatment.

No firefighters were injured during the operation. The Hillsborough County Fire Rescue’s Fire Investigations Unit is currently working to determine the cause of the blaze.
