Authorities are asking for the public’s help to find 15-year-old Anabella Day Saben, who has been missing for two weeks after leaving her home. Crime Stoppers of Sarasota is now offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information that helps locate the teenager.
According to the Venice Police Department, Saben was reported to have run away around 1:00 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 15. As of Friday, Aug. 28, she has not returned, and investigators remain concerned for her safety.
Detectives face several challenges in tracking Saben down. She does not have her cell phone, preventing family and law enforcement from contacting her directly. Investigators also do not know who she left with or the make and model of the vehicle she entered.
Saben is described as 5 feet tall and roughly 100 pounds, with long brown hair, brown eyes, and a piercing in her left nostril. She was last seen wearing a black shirt and black shorts.
Since her disappearance, Venice Police detectives have interviewed Saben’s close friends and family, monitored social media accounts, and checked local schools and other locations she might visit.
“Any information, no matter how small, could help us find Anabella and make sure she is safe, seen and heard,” the department said in an update on the active investigation.
Anyone who sees Saben should call 911 immediately. Those with direct information can reach the Venice Police Department at 941-486-2444, ask for Detective Thiessen, and reference Case No. 26001776. Tipsters who wish to remain anonymous and qualify for the cash reward can contact Crime Stoppers of Sarasota at 941-366-TIPS (8477).
