59-Year-Old Woman Killed in Tarpon Springs, Suspect Sought

TARPON SPRINGS, Fla. – Police are looking for a hit and run suspect that killed a bicyclist in Tarpon Springs Friday.

Around 5am. Friday, officers with the Tarpon Springs Police Department were dispatched to the area of US Alternate 19 (PinellasAve) and Wood Dove Ave regarding a bicyclist hit by a vehicle.

A witness to the crash followed the vehicle after it struck the bicyclist. The vehicle, a light-colored, newer model four-door Hyundai sedan struck the 59-year female and continued driving southbound without stopping to render aid to the victim.  The bicyclist was identified as Terry Bruillard,59, and was pronounced dead on the scene by Tarpon Springs Fire Rescue.

Evidence obtained on the scene identified the vehicle and it is known to have damage to the right front headlight area (passenger side), the passenger side mirror was also broken off of the vehicle during the collision.

Traffic Homicide investigators are currently searching for the vehicle and driver of the vehicle to complete the investigation. If anyone has information regarding the vehicle please contact Tarpon Springs Police Department Traffic Homicide Investigators Steve Gassen or John Gibson.  727-938-2849
