HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla.- According to the Florida Department of Health reporting, on Monday, August 17, 2020, a 6-year old girl, from Hillsborough County, died from complications with COVID-19.
This child is the youngest to die from the virus in the state of Florida.
Florida reported, for the second day in a row, a COVID-19 positivity rate under 10%. The Department of Health said that on Thursday, 9.77% of those tested were infected. Friday added 4,684 new infections on Friday and reported a statewide total to 593,286.
