60 Predators Caught In Louisiana’s Massive Two-Month Digital Dragnet

A massive, two-month law enforcement sweep across the Greater Baton Rouge area has ended with the arrest of 60 registered sex offenders who allegedly used the internet illegally and violated state registry laws.

Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill announced the results of the multi-agency crackdown, dubbed “Operation Restricted Domain,” on Monday. Led by the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation, the operation used secure law enforcement databases to track down offenders who ignored state registration requirements and engaged in horrific online activities.

“Operation Restricted Domain was a major success and sends a clear message: there are no safe havens in Louisiana for those who prey on children. We will find you, we will arrest you, and we will bring you to justice,” Murrill said.

The sweep marks a significant scaling up of state resources. Since Murrill took office in January 2024, Louisiana’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force has grown from eight partner agencies to more than 80 statewide.

The expansion comes amid a massive spike in digital danger signs. From January through May 10 of this year alone, the state received nearly 27,000 cyber tips. To put that in perspective, authorities received just over 31,000 tips during the entire 12 months of 2025. So far this year, the ICAC Task Force and Cyber Crime Unit have combined for 292 arrests, identified 36 child victims, and successfully rescued 32 children from ongoing abuse.

While law enforcement has ramped up its efforts, Murrill emphasized that the police cannot fight this battle in a vacuum, urging parents to step up surveillance on what their kids are doing online.

“This is not the conclusion — it is just the beginning of our ongoing fight for a safer Louisiana for all of our children,” Murrill added.

The operation relied on a massive web of local and federal partners, including sheriff’s offices from Ascension, East Baton Rouge, East Feliciana, Iberville, Livingston, Pointe Coupee, St. Helena, West Feliciana, and West Baton Rouge parishes. Louisiana State Police, Homeland Security Investigations, and the state Department of Public Safety & Corrections’ Division of Probation and Parole also assisted.

District Attorneys Hillar Moore, Tony Clayton, Scott Perrilloux, Ricky Babin, and Sam D’Aquilla’s offices are expected to handle the bulk of the upcoming prosecutions. Authorities noted that investigations are still active and more charges could be filed soon.

The individuals arrested during the sweep face a variety of charges, primarily centered around the unlawful use of social networking websites and failing to register as sex offenders. A handful of the suspects face much more severe counts involving explicit materials and animal abuse.
