74-Year-Old Tampa Man Killed By Hit And Run Driver While Crossing US-92 With A Walker

 A 74-year-old Tampa man, crossing the street using his walker, was hit and killed by a driver that fled the scene, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

TAMPA, Fla. – A 74-year-old Tampa man, crossing the street using his walker, was hit and killed by a driver that fled the scene, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

According to troopers, a vehicle described as a black Honda sedan, was traveling westbound on US-92, west of Williams Road. 

The 74-year-old Tampa man, using a walker, was crossing US-92 and entered the path of the vehicle. 

Troopers say the car collided with the man, who suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash. 

Following the collision, the driver fled the scene.

Troopers investigating the crash recovered portions of a side mirror that indicated the type and color of the vehicle. 

Additionally, the walker used by the pedestrian was not recovered at the crash scene and may have been dragged by or impaled into the suspect vehicle.

Additionally, during the crash investigation, an impaired driver traveled into the crash scene and was stopped by Troopers. 

The driver, Selina Marie Meadows, 46, of Plant City, was arrested by Troopers and taken to the Hillsborough County Jail, where she provided a breath sample of 0.180
