78-Year-Old Killed in Citrus County Pedestrian Crash Sunday

CITRUS COUNTY, Fla – According to Florida Highway Patrol, a tragic pedestrian crash that happened Sunday evening, claimed the life of a 78-yer-old Hernando City Woman.

An SUV, driven by and 18-year-old-Homosassa man, was traveling southbound on Carl G Rose Highway, south of Summit Lane, and a second vehicle, a car, driven by a 71-year-old Hernando City man was traveling northbound, approaching Summit Lane.

The 78-year-old woman was walking eastbound across the southbound lanes of Carl G Rose Highway and entered the path of SUV. The SUV collided with woman who was subsequently propelled into the path of car and
struck a second time. The woman suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash.
