LUTZ, Fla. – A 79=year old Lutz woman was killed in a crash that happened on US 41 and Sunset Lane Tuesday morning.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, a tree service truck with a trailer was traveling northbound on US-41 approaching Sunset Lane. At the intersection, the Lutz woman was turning left from southbound US-41 to enter Sunset Lane.
Another car was traveling westbound on Sunset Lane and was stopped, waiting to turn right onto US-41.
Troopers say the tree service truck ran the red light at the intersection, entered the intersection, and collided with the right side of the Lutz woman’s car. The impact redirected her car northeast, where it collided with another car at the insection.
Troopers say the woman was Transported to an area hospital, but later died from injuries suffered during the crash.
