ZEPHYRHILLS, Fla. – According to Florida Highway Patrol, a 79-year-old Jamestown, Pennsylvania man was killed in a crash that happened around 11:15 AM Tuesday.
Troopers say an SUV, driven by a 65-year-old Wesley Chapel woman, was traveling eastbound on Eiland Boulevard approaching Fountain Road. The Pennsylvania man, driving a van, was traveling westbound on Eiland Boulevard.
According to investigators, the Wesley Chapel woman crossed over the center line, entered the westbound lanes, and collided nearly head-on with van.
The Pennsylvania man was transported to an area hospital but later died from injuries suffered during the crash. The Wesley Chapel woman sustained serious injuries, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
