The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office arrested an 80-year-old Venice, Florida, man for Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material.
In January, detectives began their investigation when they received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) about an image depicting child pornography uploaded to a Microsoft server.
Through the investigation, detectives utilized the IP address used to upload the files to identify David Lennon, 80, as the suspect.
A search of his computer yielded more than 160 additional images with victims ranging from infant to 15 years old.
During an interview, Lennon admitted to using his computer to search and view illegal images online.
Lennon, of 886 Exuma Avenue, was arrested Friday and is charged with 40 counts of Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material.
He posted $40,000 bond, and the investigation is ongoing.
