LAKELAND, Fla. – An 82-year-old North Carolina man has been arrested in Lakeland after allegedly stabbing a man during a dispute at a residence.
The incident occurred Tuesday afternoon, January 7th, around 2:42 PM, in the area of Saddlewood Boulevard and Rockridge Road, north of Lakeland. Deputies from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene after receiving a report of a stabbing.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the victim, a 43-year-old man, had been in the process of moving out of the residence he shared with his girlfriend. He returned to the home to retrieve more of his belongings when 82-year-old Rudolph Philson, the father of the homeowner, confronted him.
Philson allegedly stabbed the victim in the chest. The victim was transported to a local hospital and remains hospitalized in stable condition.

Philson, who is the father of the victim’s girlfriend, was arrested and charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
He was booked into the Polk County Jail.
