88-Year-Old Avon Park Man Beaten in His Home, Critical Injuries

HIGHLANDS COUNTY, Fla. – Highlands County Sheriff’s Office detectives are investigating an incident that occurred yesterday, Oct. 22. An aggravated battery took place on Ramona Avenue off of State Road 17 in Avon Park. The victim, an 88-year-old man, was airlifted to a trauma center with critical injuries after being attacked in his home sometime between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.
