91-Year-Old Florida Man Charged In Wife’s Premeditated Murder

A 91-year-old man has been charged with first-degree murder following a fatal shooting over the weekend, according to law enforcement officials.

Deputies with the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence on Como Court on Saturday, Aug. 1, after receiving reports of a shooting. Upon arriving at the scene, deputies located an adult female deceased.

Investigators subsequently arrested the victim’s husband, William Lippold, 91. Lippold faces a charge of premeditated first-degree murder with a firearm in connection with the death.

Authorities stated that there is no active threat to the surrounding community.

The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit has taken over the case and continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident. Additional details regarding the investigation have not been made available at this time.
