UFC CEO Dana White Confirms 2026 Independence Day Event, Citing Presidential Support and New Broadcasting Deal
The White House will host an Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) match on its grounds next summer, according to an announcement from UFC CEO Dana White. The event is slated to be a part of the nation’s 250th Independence Day celebrations in 2026, a move White has been discussing with President Donald Trump and his daughter, Ivanka.
“It’s absolutely going to happen,” White told the Associated Press. “Think about that, the 250th birthday of the United States of America, the UFC will be on the White House South Lawn live on CBS.”

The highly unusual venue for a combat sports event was first floated by President Trump in July, who suggested the event could be a full “championship fight” and potentially accommodate as many as 25,000 spectators. The logistics of such an event, including security and crowd management for a championship fight, are expected to be the focus of a meeting between White and the Trump family in Washington, D.C., later this month.
The news comes on the heels of a significant business development for the league. Earlier this week, it was announced that Paramount will be the new streaming home for UFC starting in 2026, as part of a new seven-year deal. This agreement follows an $8 billion merger between Paramount and Skydance, further solidifying the league’s position in the media landscape.

White and Trump have known each other for over two decades. White has publicly supported Trump during his presidential campaigns, and the President has been a frequent spectator at UFC events, including a championship fight in New Jersey this past June.
