White House Deputy Chief of Staff and Homeland Security Adviser Stephen Miller criticized the Democratic Party’s platform and several of its political candidates during an appearance on Fox News Channel’s Hannity, characterizing the upcoming elections as a fundamental fight for the country’s future.
Speaking with host Sean Hannity, Miller took aim at Democratic candidates running in Texas and Michigan, arguing that their platforms and political associations stand in direct opposition to mainstream American voters.
Miller specifically addressed Texas state Representative James Talarico, claiming the candidate opposes traditional industries and religious values while supporting policies allowing biological men to compete in women’s sports. According to Miller, such positions hold “about a 1 percent approval rating in the state of Texas.”
The conversation also focused on Michigan, where Hannity raised concerns regarding ties between progressive figures and online commentator Hasan Piker. Miller criticized Democratic leadership, including Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, for not publicly condemning candidates associated with Piker over past controversial remarks regarding the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.
“When you say America deserved 9/11, what you are saying is that you support Osama bin Laden and you support the al-Qaeda 9/11 attacks,” Miller said during the broadcast. “It is to the everlasting shame of Schumer and the Senate Democrats that they have not repudiated and renounced the Michigan Senate candidate for his association with this ideology of evil.”
Throughout the segment, Miller contrasted the policy agenda of the Trump administration with progressive proposals raised during the discussion, which included calls by some activists to reshape law enforcement, immigration enforcement, and energy policy. Miller argued that enacting such policies would “bring America to its knees” and undo foundational national achievements.
Miller credited President Donald Trump with securing border enforcement, overseeing drops in violent crime rates, delivering targeted tax relief proposals—such as eliminating taxes on tips, overtime, and Social Security—and confronting international drug cartels.
Turning to the opposition, Miller framed the current political environment not as a standard policy dispute, but as an existential ideological divide.
“Issue after issue, President Trump is fighting for our families,” Miller said. “And what do they want to do? They want to hand over our nation to illegal aliens, criminals, jihadists, and communists.”
Miller added that modern political debates have shifted drastically from the tax and fiscal policy discussions of past decades, concluding that recent candidate selections reflect a party leadership fundamentally out of step with national interests.
Democratic Party officials and the campaigns mentioned during the broadcast did not immediately issue public responses to Miller’s televised remarks.
