A Teen’s Life Cut Short: The Deadly Aftermath Of A Minnesota Domestic Dispute

A quiet morning on the 1500 block of Edmund Avenue turned into a scene of chaos and gunfire on March 18, 2026, leaving a 17-year-old boy dead and a woman fighting for her life.

St. Paul police arrived at the apartment to find a woman crawling toward the stairs, bleeding from several gunshot wounds, while 17-year-old Quincy Marshall lay unresponsive inside.

Marshall was rushed to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. The female victim underwent emergency surgery for critical injuries to her kidney, liver, uterus, and lower intestine. While she survived the initial trauma, doctors say her road to recovery will involve multiple follow-up procedures.

According to court documents, the man behind the trigger was 22-year-old Creshawn Depre Pryor, the woman’s ex-boyfriend. Investigators say Pryor opened fire inside the home while a 3-year-old child was present.

That child was shielded from the immediate aftermath when a neighbor spotted her alone in the apartment and carried her to safety before officers arrived.

The physical evidence left behind told a violent story. Investigators recovered five spent rifle casings in the living room and a 9mm handgun resting on a cabinet next to Pryor’s ID. In a nearby bedroom, they found more blood and live ammunition.

Police eventually tracked Pryor to a house on Thomas Avenue. Witnesses there described a frantic scene, claiming Pryor showed up wearing nothing but a bathrobe and appeared “in distress,” allegedly telling people he thought his ex-girlfriend was dead. A subsequent search of that home turned up the robe and an AR-platform rifle.

When questioned by detectives, Pryor offered a different version of events. He claimed Marshall had shown up at the apartment and started an argument with the woman while brandishing a gun.

Pryor alleged that Marshall hit the woman and pointed the weapon at him, sparking a shootout. However, forensic teams found no evidence that Marshall ever fired a shot. In fact, the 9mm handgun found at the scene didn’t appear to have been used at all.

The shooting followed a documented pattern of domestic tension. Records show a string of incidents between Pryor and the woman dating back to June 2024. In the months leading up to the violence, Pryor allegedly sent threatening messages, at one point vowing to shoot through her door.

Just twenty-four hours before the apartment became a crime scene, Pryor sent texts pleading to get back together while simultaneously accusing her of seeing someone else.

Pryor is currently behind bars, facing charges of second-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder, and first-degree assault.
