Accelerated Baseball Academy Proven To Be Talented

STATESBORO, GA. – Former Tampa resident, Gene Reynolds Jr., is making headway with his Christian athletic program known as Georgia Premier Academy (GPA).

In 2017, Reynolds Jr. wanted to create a ministry that would provide education, baseball, and the Bible to students domestically and internationally. This opportunity is available to places such as the Bahamas, Canada, Columbia, Virgin Islands, and even Switzerland.

Georgia Premier Academy has seen over 225 students and has had more than 150 students sign with colleges. Southeastern University Senior, Pedro Castellano, is a GPA Alumni who signed with SEU in 2019 and is a force to be reckoned with on the field.

Over a dozen students have signed with professional teams such as GPA alumni Chavez Young and Daniel Espino. Young was drafted in the 2016 round by the Toronto Blue Jays and Espino was drafted by the Cleveland Indians in the 1st round pick of 2019.

With a growing ministry, it takes many hands to keep the magic going. Reynolds Jr.’s wife, Nicole, takes care of various aspects within the academy. Partner Tony Ross contributes the financial means along with Gary Cate and his wife Amber who are the main assistants.

Reynolds Jr.’s father, Gene Reynolds Sr., provides the ministry aspect. Students attend Sunday services as well as Bible study on Tuesday nights. When Reynolds Jr. is not in the 1,300-square-foot customized hitting facility or on the road, he is spending time with his children.

“This program gives them a greater appreciation for what they have,” Nicole said.

“We strive to teach the young men how to speak, act, and interact. As well as, to be Christ-like and maintain respect, character, and integrity on and off the field,” Reynolds said.

The 3-time Perfect Game Showdown Champions have proven to be hard-working, faithful, and unstoppable. All in all, Georgia Premier is providing substantial opportunities to students domestically and internationally. This academy has seen a multitude of young men from different regions, backgrounds, and lifestyles all thanks to sacrificing parents and dedicating students. One idea became worthwhile.
