Jonathan Miranda, 34, and Christina Miranda, 32, were arrested on Wednesday night in San Antonio and charged with the Capital Murder of their 10-year-old adopted son.
The arrests follow a week-long investigation that began after the child was found unresponsive at the family’s residence on the 5600 Block of Cielo Ranch late Wednesday, September 24, 2025.
Authorities were called to the home, where the young victim, who was in the guardianship of the Mirandas, was pronounced dead.

Homicide Detectives noted immediate signs of significant trauma on the child’s body. A subsequent investigation and detailed work by the Medical Examiner’s Office revealed that the injuries were consistent with continuous trauma, estimated to have occurred over a period of approximately one year.
Based on the evidence gathered, there was sufficient cause to charge both Jonathan and Christina Miranda with Capital Murder. A warrant was issued, and with the combined efforts of the Street Crimes Unit and Homicide Detectives, the couple was taken into custody on October 1, 2025.
The investigation is ongoing, and the community is grappling with the details of the tragic death of the adopted boy. The Mirandas are currently being held without bond, pending their arraignment.
