TAMPA, Fla. – The University of South Florida Bulls are bringing back one of the most talked-about looks in program history, officially announcing Thursday that their “Gold Standard” helmets will return for the 2026 season.
The design features dazzling white helmets adorned with glittering gold bull horns, metallic facemasks, and sharper, newly outlined logos.
The equipment crew made minor tweaks to the design ahead of the upcoming season, reviving a look that has historically generated significant buzz among the fanbase, including during a notable away game at UConn.

The announcement quickly flooded social media. The majority of fans and national college football accounts reacted with widespread praise, using fire emojis and labeling the design a “beauty.”
CEO of USF Athletics, Rob Higgins, said, “Shout out to USFFootball & equipment for bringing back this great helmet to the rotation (w/a few cool tweaks), to the creative team for the execution on the unveil & to Bulls Nation for the passion & engagement! LFGB!”
However, the reception was not entirely uniform; a segment of the fanbase preferred USF’s classic green-and-gold shells, with some suggesting minor adjustments to the logo orientation instead.
The revived helmets will be paired with the team’s crisp white uniforms as the Bulls prepare for their upcoming campaign in the American Athletic Conference.
