Anti-Conservative CNN’s Ratings Tank In Fourth Quarter, As Network’s Viewership Plunges More Than 70 Percent

For years CNN profited bigtime off its hatred of Donald Trump. But with no Trump and multiple scandals, CNN now seems to be learning there is little appetite for its brand of “news.”

Breitbart News columnist John Nolte noted on Wednesday that CNN’s ratings during the fourth quarter of 2021 did a nosedive.

Its primetime audience plummeted 73 percent, compared to the same period in 2020.

CNN’s audience for the whole viewing day plunged 67 percent, when comparing the last three months of 2021 to the same period in 2020.

Nolte pointed out that Fox News dropped only 21 percent of its all-day viewership, and 37 percent of its primetime audience.

Meanwhile, MSNBC lost 53 percent of its audience in each of those markets.

CNN has tried to stay afloat by parroting every line the Democratic Party tosses out.

But, as MSNBC’s ratings also show, the audience for that is shrinking and President Joe Biden’s troubles prove persistent.

Meanwhile, CNN was walloped by scandals in 2021.

Anchor Chris Cuomo was fired after a report that he helped his brother, former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, fight sexual harassment allegations.

The Cuomo scandal revived the new value of sexual assault charges against anchor Don Lemon, who was accused of inappropriately touching a male bartender. The trial in that lawsuit is set to occur this month.

Lemon was involved in another scandal when convicted race hoaxer Jussie Smollett testified in court last month that the CNN “journalist” had tipped him off that Chicago police didn’t buy Smollett’s story of being victimized in a hate crime.

Two CNN producers have been arrested in recent weeks in separate incidents for alleged sexual abuse of underage girls.

Former anchor Brooke Baldwin suddenly resigned in early 2021 and then suggested publicly but somewhat surreptitiously that CNN was sexist, men were the highest-paid people at the network, her bosses had always been men, and she had struggled to air stories that featured women’s issues.

In June CNN legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin returned to the airwaves after an eight-month absence. Toobin was suspended, but not fired, after he was discovered masturbating during a staff meeting on Zoom.

In his column, Nolte noted some drop-off was expected after 2020, which was an election year. But CNN’s collapse is utter and astonishing.

The network, he wrote, now ranks 16th in primetime viewing. In contrast, Fox News ranks second, trailing only ESPN.

“That is pure karma for this bigoted hate outlet, this despicable dumpster fire of lies and conspiracy theories,” Nolte wrote.

“What CNN chief Jeff Zucker has done to destroy the CNN brand is beyond anything I thought possible. One of the country’s great brands is now a national punchline and earning fewer primetime viewers than the Food Network. Lol,” Nolte concluded.
