Impeachment Drama Ignites Social Media Firestorm
In a social media showdown, Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) fired back at President Trump’s blistering criticisms Tuesday, embracing the label of a “silly girl” while simultaneously challenging the President on his foreign policy decisions and campaign promises.
The verbal sparring began after Ocasio-Cortez, a rumored 2028 Democratic presidential hopeful, called for Trump’s impeachment over his recent decision to bomb three nuclear facilities in Iran. She described the strikes as a “grave violation of the Constitution and Congressional War Powers.”

President Trump, never one to shy away from a social media skirmish, took to Truth Social to lambaste the New York congresswoman, dubbing her “one of the ‘dumbest’ people in Congress” and “The Mouse.” He also suggested she “go back home to Queens… and straighten out her filthy, disgusting, crime-ridden streets.”
Ocasio-Cortez’s response on X was swift and sharp. “Mr. President, don’t take your anger out on me – I’m just a silly girl,” she wrote, a seemingly demure opening that quickly pivoted to a direct challenge. “Take it out on whoever convinced you to betray the American people and our Constitution by illegally bombing Iran and dragging us into war.” RELATED: Trump’s “Midnight Hammer” On Iran Tests War Powers Act
The “Squad” representative, often referred to as “Stupid AOC” by the President, didn’t stop there. She accused Trump of breaking “almost every promise” he made during his 2024 presidential campaign within just five months of taking office. And for a final flourish, she added a geographical jab: “Also, I’m a Bronx girl. You should know that we can eat Queens boys for breakfast. Respectfully.”

The back-and-forth comes amidst a broader political debate in Washington.
An attempt led by Rep. Al Green (D-Texas) to impeach Trump over the Iran strikes ultimately failed in the House of Representatives on Tuesday.
The motion to “table” (kill) Green’s article of impeachment passed with a significant majority of 344 to 79. Notably, 128 Democrats voted with Republicans to quash the impeachment effort, including House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries and former Speaker Nancy Pelosi. Ocasio-Cortez was among the 79 who voted against tabling the resolution, which accused the President of abuse of power.
As President Trump, who survived two impeachment efforts during his first term, dares Democrats to “MAKE MY DAY!” in his second, the “silly girl” from the Bronx seems more than ready to keep the political sparring lively.
