The fatal accident occurred around 10:15 a.m. on October 11, 2025, on westbound I-4, just west of Branch Forbes Road in Hillsborough County.

The SUV veered into the median and struck a guardrail. The impact redirected the vehicle back across the westbound lanes of the highway. The vehicle then rotated, exited the roadway onto the outside grass shoulder, struck an embankment, became airborne, and ultimately overturned in the tree line.
The driver was transported to an area hospital, where he later died from his injuries. No other vehicles or individuals were involved in the crash.
