WIMAUMA, Fla. – A dispute in Wimauma on Tuesday evening ended in a double homicide, leaving two men dead. The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) is actively investigating the incident.

According to HCSO, at 6:16 p.m. on September 16, deputies were called to the 3300 block of Willow Road after receiving a 911 call about a shooting. Detectives believe an argument between two adult males escalated into an exchange of gunfire. Both men were shot and taken to a hospital, where they later died from their injuries.

“This tragic event reminds us that disputes can escalate quickly with deadly consequences,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “This type of violence on our streets puts innocent lives at risk and will not be tolerated.”

Update: September 17, 2025, 9:30 a.m.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office has identified the two men who were killed. They are Rigoberto Vences, 28, and Osvaldo Rodriguez, 27. The investigation into the double homicide remains active.
