The spokeswoman for Arizona’s Democratic Gov. Katie Hobbs has resigned after blowback from a tweet she posted suggesting transgender people must arm themselves after the Nashville school shooting.

The Blaze reported that Josselyn Berry posted a tweet late Monday showing a gif of a scene from the 1980 movie “Gloria” that depicted a woman holding a gun in each hand.

Berry’s tweet included the comment “us when we see transphobes.”

The tweet was posted just hours after a woman who identified as a man murdered six people, including three children, during a shooting at the Covenant Christian Academy in Nashville.

Police shot and killed the gunwoman, Audrey Hale, a former student at the school. Hale reportedly targeted the school, in part because it had no armed security.

The massacre occurred just days before what trans activists are calling a national “day of vengeance.”

Since the shooter’s identity emerged, the liberal media, LGBTQ activists and Democrats have crafted a narrative that blamed the killings on Republicans’ efforts to protect children from life-altering sex-change procedures and sexualized drag performances as well as a lack of gun control.

In a statement to local media, Hobbs’ office said, “The Governor does not condone violence in any form. This administration holds mutual respect at the forefront of how we engage with one another. The post by the Press Secretary is not reflective of the values of the administration. The Governor has received and accepted the resignation of the Press Secretary.”
