ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – St. Petersburg detectives have arrested Zymere Darden-Williams, 16, in connection with the fatal shooting of 15-year-old Tomohnd Newkirk. Darden-Williams has been charged with second-degree murder, according to authorities.
On December 18, 2024, just before 6 p.m., officers responded to reports of a shooting at the TGM Bay Isles apartments located at 11850 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. St N.
Upon arrival, officers found Newkirk, born October 29, 2009, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

While an arrest has been made, detectives are urging anyone with additional information about the case to come forward.
