The National Hurricane Center (NHC) issued its 8 a.m. Saturday outlook on Invest 91L, indicating that the tropical wave remains disorganized and its chances for development are decreasing. The system is currently located over the central tropical Atlantic.

According to the NHC, Invest 91L is battling a significant amount of dry air aloft, which is limiting the system’s ability to organize and strengthen. The outlook places the formation chance at a low 30% over the next 48 hours, and a low 30% within the next seven days.

The tropical wave is expected to move slowly westward at 10 to 15 mph in the coming days. Despite the decreasing odds of development, the NHC advises interests in the Lesser Antilles to monitor the system’s progress, as it is expected to be in their vicinity by the middle of next week.

Meteorologists will continue to track the disturbance to see if environmental conditions become more favorable for development as it progresses across the Atlantic.
