TAMPA, Fla. – Hillsborough County Fire Rescue (HCFR) successfully contained an attic fire that caused damage to an apartment building in Tampa late Tuesday morning. No injuries were reported.

At approximately 11:00 AM, the emergency dispatch communications center began receiving multiple 911 calls reporting a fire in the attic of a two-story apartment building located at 8603 Postwood Circle.

The first engine company to arrive at the scene encountered heavy smoke billowing from the second floor of the structure. Firefighters rapidly advanced hose lines into the affected units, opened ceilings to gain access to the attic, and extinguished the blaze.

Crews conducted thorough primary and secondary searches of all impacted apartments to confirm the safety of all residents and verify that no occupants were inside at the time of the fire.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. HCFR’s Fire Investigations Unit is currently on the scene working to determine the origin and cause of the incident.
