LAKELAND, Fla. – Avelo Airlines is boosting its service from Lakeland International Airport (LAL) just in time for the winter holiday rush, announcing additional nonstop flights to Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Rochester, New York.
Travelers looking for affordable and convenient options to visit the Midwest and the Northeast this December can now book flights with one-way fares starting at an attractive $57.
The low-fare carrier, which currently offers eight nonstop destinations from LAL, is adding a third weekly flight to both popular routes, citing strong demand for its service.

New Flight Schedules Begin in December
Avelo will continue to utilize Boeing Next-Generation 737 aircraft for these routes, with the new, expanded schedules rolling out in early December:
- Grand Rapids, Mich. (GRR): Avelo is adding a third weekly flight on Saturdays, starting December 6. This is in addition to the airline’s existing Monday and Friday service to Gerald R. Ford International Airport.
- Rochester, N.Y. (ROC): Service to Frederick Douglass Greater Rochester International Airport will see a third weekly flight added on Wednesdays, beginning December 3. This supplements the current Monday and Friday flights.
Trevor Yealy, Avelo Airlines Head of Network and Revenue, highlighted the expansion, stating, “Avelo is happy to add extra flights to two popular destinations from LAL: Grand Rapids and Rochester. Avelo’s extra flights continue to highlight demand for convenient, affordable and industry-leading reliability in Central Florida.”
Yealy emphasized the continued commitment to the region, adding, “With eight nonstop options, we continue to share Avelo’s low fares and nonstop options with our Customers.”
