Many conservatives may be worried about Bill Gates or the Chinese Communist Party from buying up America’s treasured farmland.

But one of the nation’s most influential bankers is calling for simply seizing land in an effort to reverse climate change.

The website 100% Fed Up reported on Friday, that JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon informed shareholders that eminent domain may be a viable option for the government if global warming can’t be stopped by other methods.

“The window for action to avert the costliest impacts of global climate change is closing,” Dimon said in his letter.

In order “to expedite progress, governments, businesses, and non-governmental organizations need to align across a series of practical policy changes that comprehensively address fundamental issues that are holding us back. Massive global investment in clean energy technologies must be done and must continue to grow year-over-year,” Dimon added.

“We simply are not getting the adequate investments fast enough for grid, solar, wind, and pipeline initiatives.”

“At the same time,” he continued, “permitting reforms are desperately needed to allow investment to be done in any kind of timely way. We may even need to evoke Eminent Domain.”

Eminent domain is the legal theory that allows governments to seize private land for public purposes. The government also compensates the landowner, but usually at below-market rates.

100% Fed Up noted that critics of Dimon’s audacious approach was West Virginia state Treasurer Riley Moore.

“JP Morgan’s CEO wants to use Eminent Domain to build more wind and solar farms. If you think food and energy prices are bad now, just wait until the government starts seizing farmland to build solar panels,” Moore tweeted.

“This kind of thinking poses an existential threat to the middle class.”
