A 35-year-old Florida man was charged after authorities say he hunted down his ex-girlfriend just two days after their breakup, attacking her with a baseball bat in broad daylight.
Alberto Turino Hernandez now faces a litany of serious felonies, including attempted kidnapping and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, following the violent Thursday afternoon confrontation in Hialeah.
The victim told investigators that she had recently ended their six-month relationship due to Hernandez’s increasingly possessive and aggressive behavior. According to court documents, she was simply walking toward her apartment on West 12th Avenue in Hialeah at around 2:45 p.m. when a vehicle suddenly cut her off. Hernandez allegedly jumped out of the car, wielding a black bat, and began a terrifying assault.
Witnesses and police reports indicate that Hernandez was fueled by a sense of betrayal, reportedly shouting in Spanish, “You will not make fun of me,” and “You took everything from me.”

During the struggle, police say he struck the woman across her legs and back, causing visible injuries. The situation escalated when Hernandez reportedly tried to shove the woman into his car. She managed to fight him off by bracing her legs against the door frame, preventing him from pulling her fully inside.
After the failed kidnapping attempt, Hernandez allegedly snatched the woman’s phone and purse before speeding away. The victim was later treated at a local hospital for her injuries.
The manhunt didn’t last long, however; officers tracked Hernandez down within hours, finding him inside a box truck. Investigators claim he admitted to the assault during questioning.
Hernandez is currently being held without bond at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center as the legal process begins.
