POLK CITY, Fla. — Authorities are asking for the public’s help to identify a man who walked out of a local convenience store with stolen beer and cigarettes on Tuesday.
According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred on Sept. 1 at the Chevron located at 525 Commonwealth Avenue SW in Polk City.
Deputies said an unknown suspect entered the business, took a bottle of beer from the cooler, and stood in the checkout line for a short period. Instead of paying, the man walked behind the counter into an employees-only area, grabbed cigarettes, and fled the scene on foot.
Surveillance footage shows the suspect is a white male with shoulder-length blonde hair. He was wearing a blue shirt, black pants, and black flip-flops at the time of the theft.
