CLEARWATER, Fla. – A 16-year-old male bicyclist was rushed to the hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries following a collision with a car this afternoon in Clearwater.
Clearwater Police and Clearwater Fire & Rescue crews responded to the crash in the 1200 block of Court Street just before 3 p.m.
The teenage bicyclist was transported to Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg as a trauma alert.
Authorities have closed the eastbound lanes of Court Street, east of Missouri Avenue, while the Clearwater Police Department investigates the cause and circumstances of the accident. Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes and avoid the area. The scene remains active.
