Bicyclist Dies After Thursday Clearwater Crash

Clearwater Police and Clearwater Fire & Rescue responded to a car vs. bicycle crash with serious injuries this afternoon at Missouri Avenue and Kingsley Street.

CLEARWATER, Fla. – Clearwater Police and Clearwater Fire & Rescue responded to a car vs. bicycle crash with serious injuries this afternoon at Missouri Avenue and Kingsley Street.

Police say Indalecio Ramirez-Vargas, 77, of Clearwater, was struck by a 2019 Dodge Charger headed north on Missouri Avenue. Ramirez-Vargas was attempting to cross the street, not in a crosswalk, according to investigators.

The driver of the car showed no signs of impairment and is cooperating with the investigation.

Police say the call came in just before 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.

The man was taken to Morton Plant Hospital as a trauma alert with potentially life-threatening injuries and later died from injuries suffered.
