Biden Uses Grad Speech To Spread Disinfo About Jan. 6 Riot

It’s a good thing the Biden administration’s “disinformation” board has been shelved.

Otherwise, one of the first people the Ministry of Truth might have to investigate is President Joe Biden himself.

Speaking on Saturday at the commencement event of his alma mater, the University of Delaware, Biden used a moment that is supposed to uplift new graduates to attack his Republican opponents.

“A mob of insurrectionists stormed the Capitol, the very citadel of democracy,” Biden said after recalling that he became interested in politics as a UD student more than 50 years ago because of civil rights.

“Imagine what you’d be thinking today if you had heard this morning before you got here that a group of a thousand people broke down the doors of the Parliament of Great Britain, killed two police officers, smashed and ransacked the office of members of the British Parliament or any other, what would you think? What would you think?”

Well, anyone who knew what happened on Jan. 6, 2021, at the U.S Capitol would think the president is lying.

Because the rioters did not kill two police officers that day.

As has been well documented after the dust settled and tension subsided, multiple investigations have found that U.S. Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick died of natural causes shortly after the riot.

Not long after the riot, two additional cops – Washington Metropolitan Police Officer Jeffrey Smith and USCP Officer Howard Liebengood – committed suicide within 10 days of the attack.

In a bit of potential misinformation, the “fact-checkers” at PolitiFact asserted in January that five officers actually died in the riot. PolitiFact added on two additional police suicides that occured more than six months after the riot.

In fact, the only person killed during the riot was actually shot dead by the police: U.S. Air Force veteran Ashli Babbitt, killed by USCP Lt. Michael Byrd.

The Daily Wire noted that three other people connected to the riot also passed away: two demonstrators who suffered fatal heart attacks during the melee, and another who died of a suspected drug overdose.

But Biden has made this bogus claim previously.

In a real stretch of the truth in March, Biden made a speech in Wisconsin in which he claimed Russian President Vladimir Putin felt emboldened to attack Ukraine because of the Jan. 6, 2021, riot.

To that, according to The Daily Mail, he added, “Look, how would you feel if you saw crowds storm and break down the doors of the British Parliament and kill five cops, injure 145? Or the German Bundestag or the Italian Parliament?”

He also has embellished it.

In a speech given in January on the one-year anniversary of the riot, Biden said he had “mourned police officers in this Capitol Rotunda not once but twice in the wake of January 6th: once to honor Officer Brian Sicknick, who lost his life the day after the attack, and a second time to honor Officer Billy Evans, who lost his life defending this Capitol as well.”

The suggestion by Biden is that Evans’ death was somehow in connection with the riot.

The truth is that Evans died in April 2021 from injuries suffered after Noah Green, a black man who was a follower of the radical Nation of Islam, a black nationalist group, rammed his car into a barricade at the Capitol.
