Biden’s Fibs About Gas Prices Continue To Pile Up

It’s clear that keeping up with President Joe Biden’s lies is a full-time job — especially on something that affects all Americans: gas prices.

It’s clear that keeping up with President Joe Biden’s lies is a full-time job — especially on something that affects all Americans: gas prices.

Biden once again lied about gas prices on Thursday. In this case, he offered a twofer.

According to the Daily Mail, Biden was in Syracuse to promote an announcement by Micron Technology Inc. to invest up to $100 billion in computer chip manufacturing.

During his remarks, Biden said of prices at the pump, “We’re down $1.25 [a gallon] since the peak this summer, and they’ve been falling for the last three weeks as well, and adding up real savings for families today.”

“The most common price of gas in America is $3.39 — down from over $5 when I took office,” he added.

Sigh. This is simply false. For a couple of reasons.

As The Free Press has reported, including as recently as Monday when Biden also lied about gas prices, the current price of gas is not $3.39 a gallon.

The average price nationally on Thursday, according to AAA, the most commonly cited source on this topic, was $3.76 a gallon — a full 37 cents more per gallon than what Biden claimed.

Perhaps Biden is still stuck in 2021, as AAA noted that the average price nationally at this point a year ago was in fact $3.39 a gallon.

But that’s only half of his lying.

When former President Donald Trump left office in January 2021, the average price was $2.38 a gallon.

In other words, it was less than half of what Biden claimed on Thursday.

The current price is also 58 percent higher than when Biden took office.

As The Free Press stated earlier this week, Biden’s gaslighting on gas prices shows no bounds.
