An Ohio man who was overheard laughing and bragging about shooting a romantic rival inside a bar has admitted to the crime.

Jacob Brady, 28, entered a guilty plea Monday to charges of felonious assault and tampering with evidence. Prosecutors dismissed two firearms-related charges as part of the agreement.

The charges stem from a June 22 incident at Pat’s Bar in Dayton. According to investigators, Brady opened fire on a 23-year-old man during the early morning hours.

The victim, who took a ride-share to the hospital and survived the attack, was reportedly with a woman Brady was interested in.

While Brady claimed self-defense, surveillance footage and witness statements contradicted him, indicating the woman wanted nothing to do with him and that the victim had not threatened him.

After his arrest, fellow inmates at the Montgomery County Jail reported hearing Brady laugh about the shooting. He was allegedly heard saying, “I’m gonna put that on a T-shirt — ‘BLAM, that boy down,'” WHIO reported.

Brady is scheduled for sentencing on Dec. 8.
